The Royal Armouries Museum is seeking a Digital Manager to lead the development and delivery of high-quality digital content and products across our websites, galleries, and online platforms. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in one of the UK's national museums, helping to enhance how we connect with and inspire diverse audiences through digital innovation.
Responsibilities
Create and manage engaging digital content (video, text, web, podcasts, etc.)
Lead a team including a Web Officer and Digital Content Officer
Manage the Royal Armouries website and digital products
Ensure digital outputs meet accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2) and user experience best practices
Monitor and report on digital performance using tools like Google Analytics
Provide digital training and support to other departments
Collaborate with Marketing, Exhibitions, and Learning teams
Support and deputise for the Digital Programme Manager
Manage assigned project budgets and contribute to strategic planning
Qualifications
Required:
Experience in digital content creation and digital project management
Leadership and team management experience
Strong understanding of UX, accessibility, and digital best practice
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent software
Excellent communication, organisation, and storytelling skills
Ability to work flexibly and manage multiple priorities
Preferred:
Experience in museums, culture, or heritage sector
Knowledge of Drupal, SEO, GA4, and digital asset management systems
Familiarity with GDPR, copyright, and data compliance
