About the role

Location:

Dudley, Walsall, Wolverhampton

Hours:

3 hours per week



As a Digital Media Volunteer, you will support the service by helping to create short, engaging videos that showcase Sanctuary Hubs and the support they offer. The role involves volunteering alongside staff and service users to capture the atmosphere, activities, and impact of the hubs, helping to raise awareness and demonstrate the value of the service to the wider community.



Ideally, you will be able to dedicate a minimum of?3 hours per week?to volunteering between?Monday - Sunday. There will be flexibility around how you choose to complete these hours.



Full training and regular supervision will be provided, so you'll feel confident and supported in your role.

As a Digital Media Volunteer, you will:

Plan and produce short videos showcasing Sanctuary Hubs Film activities, spaces, and (where appropriate) staff or service user contributions Help capture the look, feel, and purpose of the hubs in a sensitive and respectful way Complete video editing or organisation of footage Follow guidance around consent, confidentiality, and safeguarding at all times Collaborate with staff to ensure videos meet service and commissioner requirements Contribute ideas on how best to visually promote the hubs and their impact

About the service



Sanctuary Hubs provide safe, welcoming spaces for people experiencing mental health distress. The hubs offer emotional support, practical guidance, and opportunities to connect with others in a calm, non-clinical environment. The service aims to reduce crisis escalation, promote wellbeing, and support individuals to feel heard, understood, and supported within their local community.



What will make you a great fit for this role?



An interest in media, video creation, or digital content Experience using video recording equipment or smartphones for filming Basic video editing skills An understanding of confidentiality, consent, and safeguarding principles (training can be provided) A sensitive, non-judgemental, and respectful approach Good communication skills and the ability collaborate with staff and others Reliability and a willingness to follow guidance and service values

It's not essential, but you may also bring:

Lived experience of mental health challenges (personally or as a carer) An interest in storytelling, social impact, or community-focused media
