The Digital Reliability Engineer is part of the contract management regional team and responsible for providing technical support in the development, implementation and operation of John Crane\'s digital service agreements. This individual will play an important role in the digital organization, as he/she will support John Crane\'s sales and service team efforts to achieve excellence in contract management for digital assets and in reliability service delivery.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assess customer needs and business opportunities for digital products that result in feasibility studies and other deliverables
  • Drive digital reliability programs, by performing business mapping, developing product selection guides, identifying bad actor equipment, sharing best practices, performing equipment data surveys, identifying reliability improvements, identifying business opportunities and others.
  • Execute service agreements through: cross-functional collaboration, Failure Analysis, customer feedback, engineering calculations and design, design and optimize advanced mechanical seal support systems (API plans), technical training and best practices
  • Manage monthly reports and create in-depth quarterly reports to analyze contract performance.
  • Contribute to data management and maintain data quality requirements for John Crane Sense and other digital products
  • Training in dry gas seals and turbomachinery is preferred.
  • Maintain high quality customer relationships - this role is customer-facing and highly developed interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Basic data analysis and graphing in Python or R.

The Individual
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Engineering required - Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles, demonstrating the ability to understand and address customer needs effectively.
  • Vibration analysis experience would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience in turbomachinery is beneficial for this role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfortable with a range of software.
  • Experience with Python or R, intermediate to advanced proficiency preferred
  • Understanding of basic statistics and data analysis
  • Travel up to 50% to customer sites to implement new programs and support existing ones.
