DIGITAL SKILLS TUTOR

Location: HMP Elmley, Church Rd, Eastchurch, Sheerness ME12 4DZ
Hours:37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Flexible Working: We welcome applications from those seeking flexible or part time hours
Salary: Up to \xc2\xa333,000 per annum (Subject to experience)
Apprenticeships: Development opportunities are available through Apprenticeship standards

MK College Group have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Skills Tutor, to join the prison-based Education Team at HMP Elmley in Kent. HMP Elmley is a large prison with a high churn of prisoners due to it servicing the local courts, therefore the courses are roll on roll off and courses can be short in length, in addition many of the learners have a diverse range of needs and learning abilities, they will often have had a negative experience with education. As a successful Digital Skills Tutor, you will be able to engage them and provide learners with a positive learning experience.

We are seeking an individual who can communicate well with learners to inspire and motivate them. The average class consists of 8 learners and the sessions are approximately 3 hours long. Your lessons will need to be adaptable, innovative, and imaginative. Core delivery would be Digital courses such as Digital Marketing with the expectation to teach other sessions to meet the contractual demands of the department - subjects such as, but not limited to, IT English, Maths - generally embedding digital skills. Support would be given to develop in subject areas you are not experienced in, as long as you have a passion for teaching and a willingness to develop.

This role may involve outreach work outside of the main classroom setting. You will be connecting with learners in a professional manner, supporting them with their learning, enabling them to achieve success through not only qualifications, but developing the confidence and softer skills that they can apply to employment upon release as well as other areas within education the prison.
