The library Service is looking for a motivated person to join their team at Aberdare as a Digitisation Officer.
The post holder will be required to assist the Information Services Librarian with delivery and development of the library services digital strategy. With a practical understanding of digitisation in the library and Heritage sectors, an ability to build digital literacy internally and a collaborative approach to working, the post holder will help raise the profile of the library services collections by providing online and display based access to the services digital imagery, documentation and film. They will oversee the continued digitisation of all items identified for digitisation and assist in providing the widest access possible to the resources.
The ability to show previous experience of scanning various formats of archived material is preferable.
On occasion the post holder may be required to provide general library support at any or all library locations.
Protecting children and vulnerable adults is a core responsibility of all staff appointed to the Council.
