Job Description

AETC Limited is a UK division of the industry leading Precision Castparts Corp (PCC), which employs over 30,500 people across the globe. PCC is the world's largest manufacturer of airfoil components for the aerospace and Industrial power generation markets. At AETC we manufacture a range of products from the smallest aerospace parts to large industrial gas turbine parts and as such, we are a key figure in the power generation supply chain and aerospace market.

Overall Purpose:

The Dimensional Inspector carries out inspection activities within the factory, ensuring that method specs are complied with at all times and that parts are machined in line with customer requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out first off inspections, ensuring that the part is machined to correct standard before manufacturing continues Maintain OPC and sample inspection's to ensure that parts are complying to method spec Complete receipt inspection where required (validation of parts returning from sub contract locations)

Skills Requirement

The ideal candidate should have:

A sound understanding of inspection techniques (on a variety of products) and proven engineering experience Experience of inspecting to tight tolerances in a precision engineering environment Experience of working in a fast paced manufacturing Company, with demanding targets A solid understanding of engineering drawings and method specifications A reasonable degree of computer literacy, with basic excel experience An understanding or ability to use SAP would be an advantageous Ability to use conventional inspection equipment Ability to use CMM machines Ability to work on their own initiative but also have good interpersonal and team working skills. Excellent attention to detail and pride in work Ability to be flexible to support the ongoing needs of the business Complete conventional and CMM inspection work as an independent over check for parts Understand Engineering drawings for the purpose of inspection Complete visual inspection of parts during the inspection process. Generation of non-conformance paperwork as applicable. Undertake Airflow Inspection tasks as required Consistently achieving all area targets as determined by the Cell Manager Adherence to all company policies and procedures, including SOX, Code of Conduct and Health and Safety.

Pay

14.48 - Basic Hourly rate
Shift Premium for this 3 shift rotating pattern is 21%
This gives a starting rate on this 3 shift pattern of 17.52

There is opportunity, following comprehensive training for this rate to increase (inclusive of shift premium)

Hours

37-hour contract - 3 shift pattern (morning, afternoon and night rotation)

Morning Hours

05:45 - 13:45 Monday - Thursday
05:45 - 10:45 Friday

Afternoon Hours

13:45 - 21:45 Monday - Thursday
10:45 - 15:45 Friday

Night Hours

21:45 - 05:45 Monday - Thursday
15:45 - 20:45 Friday

The Company can also accommodate a morning and night shift rotation where this suits a candidates requirements.

Please note whilst training for the role hours of work will be -

08:00 - 16:25 Monday - Thursday

08:00 - 13:20 Friday

Holidays

26 days floating + 7 statutory days

This holiday entitlement increases after 2 years to 27 days and after 10 years to 28 days

Overtime

Overtime available and paid in line with agreed rates
