The Dining Assistant responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Assist with Meal Service:

Support the Catering Team in serving meals to residents, ensuring all food is presented attractively and served promptly. +

Adhere to Food Hygiene Standards:

Follow all food hygiene and safety regulations, including the Food Safety Act 1990 and current best practices, to maintain a clean and safe dining environment.

Modify Diets as Needed:

Ensure the staff serve meals according to residents' individual dietary requirements, including texture-modified diets, allergies, and medical or cultural preferences, as directed by care plans or clinical staff.
+

Respect Dietary Preferences:

Liaise with residents, care staff, and families to understand and accommodate personal food choices, ensuring a person-centred approach to dining.
+

Refreshments and Hydration:

Prepare and offer refreshments and maintain a well-stocked hydration station, encouraging residents to stay hydrated throughout the day.
+

Tea Service:

Prepare the tea trolley and assist residents during tea rounds, providing support as needed to ensure a positive dining experience.
+

Communication:

Interact with residents, visitors, and colleagues in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner at all times.
+

Maintain Cleanliness:

Ensure the dining area, kitchen, and equipment are kept clean and tidy, following cleaning schedules and infection prevention protocols.
