Job Description

The Oxford Future of Marketing Initiative (FOMI) brings world-class business academics and senior executives from some of the world's largest companies together to address some of the most difficult and complex business challenges within the domains of marketing, advertising, communications, media, and technology.

The Director is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, development and execution of the Oxford Future of Marketing Centre. The primary responsibility is to facilitate revenue generation and increase Industry partner relationships for the Initiative, by broadening and strengthening the research focus through market research to keep aligned with industry interest. The Director will lead a pilot to develop the Oxford Future of Marketing Initiative (FOMI) into a sustainable Centre with additional research focus on Diversity Equality and Inclusion in Business.
The Director will play a pivotal role in achieving ambitious growth plans for the Oxford Future of Marketing Centre. By strengthening existing partnerships, building new cross-sector collaborations, and driving forward a new stream of research under the DEI in Business agenda, they will position the Centre as a leading hub for inclusive, impact-driven research and engagement.

The role holder will have outstanding marketing, business and strategic acumen and will elevate the Oxford Future of Marketing Centre from a pilot initiative to a central driver of the School's broader ambitions. The job holder will therefore be directly supporting the School's strategic ambition of fostering research excellence and expanding research collaborations with industry and external stakeholders. A core ambition of the School is to generate business relevant insights that influence management practice, shape academic discourse, and lead to measurable positive impact beyond academia. Through the development of new focus areas under the Oxford Future of Marketing Initiative, the Centre will serve as a platform to advance this mission supporting engagement between faculty and business, strengthening research-led teaching, and amplifying the School's thought leadership on inclusive, responsible business.

The role will provide strategic leadership in transitioning the Initiative and research focus for the Oxford Future of Marketing Initiative into a new Centre, a new operating model and ensure that our resources are aligned and focused on the School's vision, purpose and ambition.

The Director will lead the development of the Centre, increase its reputation with its Industry partner stakeholders, internally and externally, and will work towards KPI's to ensure the sustainability of the Centre: KPIs/targets will include:

Increase in Industry Partnerships

Increase in funding

Development/expansion of funding models

Volume and visibility of thought leadership outputs

Number and diversity of high-profile events hosted by the Centre

Increase in cross-sector stakeholder engagement (e.g. business, government, civil society
