Job Description

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, confident and forward-thinking Corporate Governance specialist to join the Trust's Senior Leadership Team.



Reporting to the Chief Executive, the successful applicant will be responsible for developing, maintaining and continuously improving corporate governance arrangements so that the Trust Board of Directors can be assured that our patients are receiving the high quality of care we aspire to and our colleagues are having a good working experience.



We are specifically looking for applicants with significant experience of working in an NHS Provider or other NHS organisation at a very senior level in this field of expertise.



The post holder will play a key coordination role within the Trust. They will be expected to use their initiative to identify opportunities to anticipate, support and streamline the work of the Board and its Committees. They will manage the interface between the management and governance arrangements of the Trust and take every opportunity to ensure a high standard of reporting and debate.

The successful applicant will be the principal advisor to the Chair, Chief Executive, Board of Directors and Council of Governors on all issues relating to corporate governance. They will be responsible for ensuring that the Trust's Corporate Affairs are undertaken to the highest standards of probity and according to statutory and legislative requirements.



A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.



Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is 26.40 (standard) or 54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.



You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of 16 per year applies.
