The Director of Engineering is expected to maintain a consistently professional demeanor and represent NoMad London positively in all interactions. They must always adhere to company policies and procedures, including Health & Safety, HR guidelines, and compliance training.
As a Head of Department, visibility, flexibility, and strong leadership are vital. The role requires managing workload efficiently, fostering clear communication within the team and across departments, and working collaboratively between both hotels and management. The Director should guide and inspire their team while championing our company values and promoting a positive, cooperative culture.
Work Experience
The main responsibilities of the Director of Engineering are summarised below, the list is not exhaustive:
Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to always maintain plant in serviceable order.
Manage Computer Based Maintenance systems BEI, Signify, BMS Q-SYS & Know cross, and is kept up to date all relevant documentation is completed regarding PPM and reactive works.
Manage up to date shift logs and follow through until full resolution.
Manage daily checks of plant rooms and equipment.
Manage, motivate, deploy, and develop all employees in Engineering Department and utilise external contractors as and when necessary.
Organise store and closely control inventory.
Creating and managing the yearly engineering budget ensuring budget is maintained throughout.
Communicating and delivering on project work to ensure all relevant departments are up to date on ongoing works and expectations of impact.
Organizing capex works obtaining quotations and ensuring projects are completed on time and on budget; following through with any issues preventing the completion of the project
Oversee the infrastructure of the Engineering department and make changes as and when needed.
Oversee and be responsible for the health and safety requirements of the building ensuring compliance and due diligence standards are constantly upheld.
