Job Summary




Cranleigh School seeks an outstanding and ambitious

Director of Hockey

to lead one of the most successful and respected school hockey programmes in the UK. This is an exceptional opportunity for a driven and experienced coach to shape the next generation of players while sustaining Cranleigh's record of national success.


Cranleigh is renowned for its commitment to excellence in sport, and hockey is at the heart of that tradition. The school has achieved multiple national indoor and outdoor titles and continues to produce players for Talent Academies, National Age Group Squads, and international teams.


The successful candidate will bring both strategic vision and hands-on coaching expertise. You will oversee the delivery of an inclusive, inspiring, and high-performing hockey programme for girls and boys, ensuring that every pupil can thrive - from first-time players to elite athletes.


You will coach and manage the 1st XI teams, lead the indoor hockey programme, and guide the development of high-potential athletes through individual coaching and our scholarship pathway. Alongside this, you'll mentor staff, coordinate fixtures and tours, and help shape the school's broader sporting culture in collaboration with the Director of Sport.
