Who are we?

We are Shack Events - a leading bar and confectionery operator working across some of the UK's biggest stadia and sporting venues. From our own kegged cocktails and spirit mixers to draught beer, craft ale, and now confectionery like pick & mix, doughnuts, and ice cream--we deliver it all.

But we didn't start here. Just over a decade ago, two brothers were selling bottled apple juice at farmers markets. With grit, ambition, and the strength of a growing team, we've built a business we're proud of--and we're only getting started.

We're passionate, hands-on, and always up for a challenge. Our people are our backbone, and we invest in building their skills, confidence, and careers. From bar staff to directors, we work as one team--and no one's above rolling up their sleeves.

What's the role?

The Operations Director oversees logistics, warehousing, stock and asset management, as well as live event operations and event build/breaks across all our venues--ensuring everything runs effectively, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

You'll own the day-to-day delivery of operations, including compliance, planning, forecasting, and team development. Driving efficiency, consistency, and continuous improvement is at the heart of this role. From system implementation to team growth, you'll lead by example and with accountability--ensuring Shack's operations meet the mark every time.

You'll work closely with the Venue Director, Business Support Director, and Heads of Department to keep all areas aligned and fully supported.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for someone to take full ownership of their departments, making confident, thoughtful decisions with the wider business in mind. You'll lead and support your HODs, ensuring smooth day-to-day delivery while challenging them to grow and improve. As we scale, we need resilience, strong processes, and simplicity. You'll play a key role in driving this--constantly refining what we do and helping us do it better.

You'll set and manage budgets with finance, so strong commercial awareness is essential. You'll need to think fast, act decisively, and turn plans into action. We're looking for someone who can spot day-to-day challenges and operational gaps, take swift, decisive action to fix them, and put lasting solutions in place to prevent repeat issues.

Most of all, we want someone who'll become part of the Shack fabric--embracing our ways, helping shape them, and leading with care, strategy, and pragmatism.
