Join Viasat as the Strategy & Operations Director and play a pivotal role in shaping the offerings, partnerships and operations of a new Segment. Evaluate markets, identify opportunities, and develop and improve operations to ensure our world-class teams efficiently work on customer targeted products that delight users. The day-to-day:

  • Develop the case for strategic investments for executive approval, considering the entire Narrowband portfolio
  • Engage with business areas, corporate teams, and customers to understand the markets and objectively assess their likely success given the competitive environment
  • Negotiate and define agreements or contracts with external partners related to strategic programs and projects
  • Lead the NTN segment planning process to steer investment and resource prioritization across the business
  • Drive engagement with the market and explore/setup operational approaches to deliver services
  • Develop processes that enhance the efficient operations of the business
  • Build financial models for opportunities and create compelling narratives that express the value of investments
  • Transition strategy into execution in collaboration with non-business-specific initiatives
  • Stay updated on competitor activities and market trends to advise on strategy
  • Build and deliver presentations to pitch opportunities to potential customers, partners and investors
What you'll need:
  • Hypothesis led when investigating new opportunities or risks with a structured and methodical approach to problem solving
  • The ability to lead and influence teams without direct line management authority
  • Data-driven and able to articulate and communicate the message behind the data
  • Experience and commercial acumen to quickly get to an assessment of market size/growth, competitive landscape, and right to win
  • Experience collaborating with product & project management and engineering teams to work out the feasibility of new products
  • Skilled at financial and commercial modelling in Excel, including options analysis
  • Deep understanding of the Telecommunications industry
What will help you on the job:
  • Commercial experience in the industry is desirable
  • Industry knowledge of Satcom and Networking is a plus
