Blackpool and The Fylde College (B&FC) is seeking a visionary and values-driven leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Director of Student Services. This is a pivotal opportunity to shape the entire student experience across one of the UK's leading Further and Higher Education institutions. The post is full-time and based across our campuses on the Fylde Coast.
As a senior leader and Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), you will lead a broad portfolio of student support functions that directly influence learner success, wellbeing, and satisfaction. This is a strategic and operational role with significant scope to drive excellence, innovation, and impact at scale.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
As Director of Student Services, your key responsibilities will include:
Strategic leadership of the student experience, ensuring support services are inclusive, high-performing, and aligned to the College's Strategic Plan 2025-2030.
Acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the College, overseeing all safeguarding and Prevent responsibilities, and embedding a culture of safety and care across all campuses.
Driving the implementation and evaluation of the Student Experience Strategy, focusing on improving outcomes and enriching the student journey across Further Education, Higher Education, apprenticeships, and adult provision.
Leading critical support services, including safeguarding, wellbeing, learning support, inclusion, enrichment, careers and employability, digital learning, and Learning Resource Centres.
Championing the student voice, digital engagement, and personal development through responsive communication and inclusive practices.
Overseeing key processes such as behaviour management, complaints and conduct, strategic partnerships, and quality assurance.
Providing inspirational leadership to cross-functional teams, embedding a customer-focused, high-performance culture, and ensuring continuous improvement.
