To take overall responsibility for the client experience and performance of a portfolio of Private Equity clients, whilst working with the senior management team to drive the vision, mission and values of the Gen II throughout the business. To exercise accountability to relevant stakeholders and apply skill and care in exercising your duties. To act as a role-model leader, maximising the contribution of your portfolio, both through your own efforts and by leading, supporting and developing your team and others across the Group. To act as and discharge the obligations of a key person satisfactorily and in line with defined business activities.
What you'll be doing
Client Service & Business Development
Act as 'Relationship Director' for a portfolio of Private Equity clients, delivering excellent service and building strong relationships with key decision makers
Build and lead a high-performing team passionate about client service and the Alternatives industry
Drive service improvements through regular review meetings and anticipate client needs to introduce additional services
Maintain market profile through networking, speaking engagements, and business development initiatives
Leadership & Management
Lead and support business unit managers while driving entrepreneurial growth under prudent control
Generate innovative, strategically sound ideas and develop high-potential talent across Gen II
Build team commitment through performance recognition, constructive feedback, and realistic objective setting
Communicate effectively using authority and influence to direct efforts and achieve results
Risk & Fiduciary
Act as Director on internal and client boards (regulated and unregulated)
Provide independent technical and strategic guidance while upholding corporate governance standards
Demonstrate sound judgment and professional skepticism, particularly when dealing with risk issues
Maintain knowledge of external business environment, industry trends, and regulatory requirements
Ensure CPD requirements are met for self and team members
Financial & Administrative Management
Prepare budgets, monitor performance against targets, and demonstrate business acumen in fee management
Lead projects and initiatives, chair meetings, and ensure timely reporting of key information
Contribute to IT system decision-making and maintain knowledge of relevant technology impacts
The ideal background for this role:
Professional qualification (Accountancy, Chartered Secretary, Banking, Securities or other relevant Table 4 qualification)
15 years' relevant finance industry experience
Minimum 8 years at senior level within offshore financial services
Proven track record and directorship experience
Comprehensive understanding of private equity & venture capital as an asset class
Strong knowledge of company law, industry legislation, and financial management
Unique role requirements
Drive operational change and efficiency initiatives across business units
Develop cost efficiencies through new procedures, systems, and working practices
Identify and build new high-value business lines that differentiate Gen II from competitors
Lead change initiatives directly linked to increased Group profitability
Role Location/Hybrid Schedule
This role is based in our Jersey office. Although the nature of most of the roles within Gen II cannot be classed as totally flexible, there is scope in some cases for a form of Agile Working. The different ways in which Agile Working can be undertaken is dependent on the demands and needs of the business, the office space available and the individual's preferences and circumstances.

This role is likely to be captured under the Senior Manager Regime in Jersey (as outlined by the Jersey Financial Services Commission and the Financial Services Commission (Amendment No 8 (Jersey) Law 2022) and therefore you will have a duty of responsibility and be expected to adhere to the relevant AML legislation and regulation in Jersey and also the exemplary standards of governance and accountability set in relation to fitness, and propriety and conduct. This means that the JFSC may impose a financial penalty on you if you are culpable in a significant and material contravention by Gen II on the Money Laundering (Jersey) Order 2008 or the AML Codes of Practice.
