The Royal British Legion is embarking on a significant phase of digital and organisational transformation. As part of our newly formed Data, Technology and Transformation Directorate, we are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Director: Technology to shape and lead the next stage of our technology strategy.
This is a newly redefined role, evolved to align with the ambitions set out in our refreshed organisational strategy. The remit has expanded significantly, reflecting the need for a more integrated, modern, and strategic approach to how technology enables our services, supports operational excellence, and drives long-term value. Come and be part of the leading Armed Forces charity, making a difference to the lives of those who have served to keep us safe and protect our way of life.
You will lead a team of senior Heads across engineering, architecture, cyber security, testing and operations, providing clear direction while fostering a culture of modern delivery, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. The role requires a strategic mindset and the ability to align complex technology programmes with broader organisational objectives. Experience of agile and flow-based delivery models, modern service design, and scalable platforms will be key.
We are looking for a senior technology leader with a strong strategic mindset, deep technical knowledge, and a modern approach to delivery. You will bring proven experience of leading high-performing teams, driving change at scale, and delivering technology strategies that are future-focused and outcomes-driven. With the freedom to innovate and the responsibility to deliver, you will drive the adoption of cutting-edge solutions and modern ways of working that transform how we operate and engage. If you are passionate about leveraging technology to create meaningful, lasting change, this is the role where your vision and leadership will make a tangible difference.
You will be contracted to our London Hub, Haig House.
