An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dedicated Disability Support Team as a part-time Disability Adviser on a fixed term contract until the end of June 2026. The Disability Support Team works as part of the wider support network within Student Wellbeing and across the University.
The role holder will offer advice, guidance and support to both current and prospective students with disabilities (including mental health difficulties). A key part of the role will be to offer advice and guidance on Disabled Students' Allowances and other appropriate support for studies. The role also involves identifying and sharing reasonable adjustments required by individual students as well as advising staff on inclusive practices to encourage an anticipatory approach to meeting support needs of disabled students
This post holder will work extensively with other Student Wellbeing staff but will also be responsible for liaising with other academic and professional teams, and external organisations. As such we are looking forward to receiving applications from well organised, flexible individuals with high levels of customer service. A commitment to working from a social model of disability is essential in this role. Successful candidates will need to be highly student focused, empathetic and have excellent interpersonal skills.
