Job Overview


AD Hauliers Ltd is a Glasgow-based road freight and distribution company working with major clients, is seeking an experienced Dispatch and Distribution Manager to lead and scale our UK delivery operations from our Glasgow office. The successful candidate will oversee fleet and dispatch operations, ensuring the efficient and compliant movement of goods from origin to destination.

This is a managerial position responsible for supervising logistics teams, maintaining fleet performance, coordinating with clients and driving operational excellence within a dynamic and fast-paced haulage network.

Responsibilities



Manage daily transport and distribution activities to ensure timely delivery performance. Plan, direct and optimise routes to improve on-time performance while reducing cost-per-delivery Oversee fleet management, including vehicle allocation, maintenance planning and inspection scheduling. Ensure compliance with transport legislation, health & safety and company standards Liaise with contract partners and drivers to maintain strong business relationships. Monitor budgets, prepare performance reports and contribute to cost efficiency Implement strategic initiatives to enhance service quality, cost control and fleet productivity, supporting long-term company growth Report directly to the Company Director, presenting updates on distribution outcomes, business development initiatives

Qualifications



Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field Experience in transportation management: Demonstrated expertise in planning, scheduling, and optimizing transport services, including freight movement. Maintenance coordination experience: Proven ability to oversee maintenance activities for various transport infrastructures Staff management skills: Ability to effectively utilize staff and equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and safety while maintaining compliance with regulations Knowledge of relevant regulations: Familiarity with work hours regulations, crew licensing, operational safety standards, and statutory regulations related to transport and distribution. Analytical skills: Ability to review and analyse space utilization, staffing levels, and distribution expenditures for future planning and policy formulation.
Use of Excel, SAP, Ariba or similar advantageous

Excellent communication and organisational skills and strong interpersonal skills for liaising with stakeholders

Pay: 44,900.00-45,700.00 per year
