Perry of Oakley Ltd, a manufacturer of bulk materials handling equipment requires a person with a strong track record of despatch management to join their Dispatch & Warehouse Team as Despatch Manager. The ideal candidate will take a proactive and energetic approach to the production and warehouse requirements in a busy engineering environment. The role is hands on and can be physically demanding due to the nature of the product.

Key Responsibilities and accountabilities:

Ensuring the on time & correct dispatch of all goods including customer communication and booking of transport. Timely, accurate communication with the Quality Control team to ensure all orders and checked and correct before being dispatched. Successful management of the Dispatch department team to meet or exceed company KPIs. Completing all required paperwork for the successful dispatch of goods outside of mainland UK including the compilation of packing lists. Managing the inventory within the warehouse environment. The movement of parts and complete goods around the large manufacturing complex. Loading and unloading lorries Picking and shrink wrapping goods Carrying out pre-delivery inspections Other duties may include, dependent on experience, assembly, stock control, QC, production management, purchasing and any other key company requirements that occur from time to time.

Essential skills and experience:

Pro-active, dynamic individual with a natural drive for achieving results. Experience of managing logistics within an engineering manufacturing environment is essential. Experience of the successful management of a team to meet set KPIs. Experience of generating accurate export paperwork. Experience of arranging deliveries with customers. Excellent attention to detail. Valid forklift license is desirable. Willing to learn and develop within the company. Reach Truck experience is desirable Knowledge of MRP systems desirable
