Receiving prescription repeats electronically or in person. Collecting private charges for private prescriptions, vaccines and holiday prophylactic medication as necessary Sorting, stamping and endorsing prescriptions Completing backs of prescriptions Generating prescriptions Stock Control Ordering appropriate quantities of goods via the telephone / wholesalerscomputer. Returning goods to wholesalers. Stocking shelves, refrigerators and other storage areas using rotation method.
Removing out of date stock from the shelves, refrigerators and other storage areas. Disposal of returned unused medicines. Ensuring the storage area remains safe, clean and tidy at all times and that cleaning schedules are maintained. Reception: Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional Enter requests for home visits into the visit book, ensuring careful recording of all relevant details and where necessary refer to Duty Doctor.

Filing and retrieving all necessary paperwork Advise patients of relevant charges for private (non General Medical Services) services, accept payment and issue receipts for same. Providing clerical assistance to Practice Staff as required from time to time, including word/data processing, filing, faxing, photocopying.
