Our organisation is looking to hire an experienced Dispenser to join our team. The right candidate will be efficient and courteous, and will be responsible for answering incoming dispensary enquiries, preparing and dispensing medication, inputting patient information and other administrative duties as required by the practice. The successful candidate will also be familiar with medical terminology and able to handle emergency situations efficiently and appropriately. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who has excellent time management skills and can work well under pressure.
As a Dispensary Supervisor you will have:
Line Management and Workflow Oversight
Planning and publishing staff rotas, including allocating and ensuring annual leave is covered
Planning, allocating, and managing the workflow of dispensary staff to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
Providing managerial and supervisory support to all dispensary team members.
Line managing the dispensary team to ensure a well-coordinated and productive environment.
Dispensing and Operational Duties
Overseeing all dispensing matters within the practice, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
Checking colleagues dispensing work as needed.
Managing prescription charges, cashing up, and balancing received payments.
Ensuring prescriptions are ready for submission for payment
Participating in and managing Dispensing Review Use of Medicines.
Stock, Compliance and Protocol Management
Monitoring and managing stock levels to maintain efficiency, minimise wastage, and control expenditure.
Maintaining cleanliness and safety within the dispensary in line with regulations.
Ensuring dispensary operations align with guidelines set by NICE, CQC, and other regulatory bodies.
Ideal candidate must have the following:
NVQ Level 2 Dispensing Assistant Course or Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Course
Accuracy Checking Dispensing Assistant Course (Desirable)
Working pattern: 2 full days / 2 half days 30 hours per week
This position would suit someone who is currently working as a dispenser in a GP Surgery and wants to progress.

Pay: 15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
