Nestled on 12.5 acres in the heart of Scotland, Burnbrae Distillery is privately owned and operated, proudly expanding the legacy of the J.G. Distillers Group (Campbell Meyer).

It is located within the existing 160,000 sq. ft bottling and maturation facility in East Kilbride which exports to over 60 global markets.

With a rich heritage and long history spanning over 50 years, we are confident that every drop of our extraordinary spirits are shaped by expert hands. Our whisky is beautifully balanced, with abundant complexity and a very special distinctive character.

Now that Burnbrae Distillery has completed its commissioning, we can now embark on the next chapter of our journey to produce high quality single malt spirit.

The Role:



This is a fantastic opportunity to develop operational culture within the distillery, receive relevant training and drive excellence in production. As the purpose of the distillery operator is to provide operational, maintenance and quality skills; you should have the ability to work independently or as part of a team. You should understand how to safely and efficiently operate equipment within the distillery as well as strong problem-solving skills. You must also be a strong communicator with a proven track record of working collaboratively with a wide variety of departments.

Working Hours:



The following shift patterns are in place, and these are rotated on a weekly basis (subject to change in line with future production capacity):

Early Shift

6.15 am to 2.45 pm

Late Shift

2.30 pm to 11.00 pm

Responsibilities:



Work as part of a cohesive distilling team responsible for producing high-quality single malt spirit at the lowest cost.

Alternate between mashing operation and distilling to maintain the highest standards of plant efficiency and product quality while ensuring adherence to all on-site legislative requirements, including Health & Safety, HMRC, and environmental compliance.

Operate and continually monitor production processes and equipment, both manually and through the SCADA system, by following standard operating procedures to achieve optimal performance.

Ensure production targets are met at the required levels, providing drive, energy, and expertise to maximize product quality, customer service, and process yields in all aspects of the operation, from raw materials to the final product.

Report breakdowns promptly and ensure accurate recording of information in the appropriate maintenance systems. Develop and sustain a level of plant knowledge to facilitate breakdown resolution in collaboration with the management team and engineering support.

Accurately record production data to support the investigation and improvement of any HMRC, quality, or efficiency performance issues, working in conjunction with the management team.
