The Role
IAE is seeking a proactive and organised Distribution Supervisor to support and enhance the daily operations of our busy distribution yard. Reporting to the Distribution Manager, this key role is responsible for managing day-to-day distribution activity, maximising operational efficiency, and ensuring all processes align with company standards and customer requirements.
Based at our Stoke-on-Trent facility, the successful candidate will lead teams across loading, picking, customer collections, and goods-in, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily distribution activities including loading, picking, customer collections, and goods-inwards.
Prioritise daily load schedules to maximise productivity and maintain timely delivery and collection slots.
Communicate effectively with the Distribution Manager, Supervisors, and Team Leaders to ensure shift handovers and daily targets are met.
Monitor and manage staff performance to ensure high levels of supervision, safety, and compliance with standard operating procedures.
Ensure all operatives are trained and proficient in the use of scanning systems; investigate and rectify any stock inaccuracies.
Maintain accuracy in inventory management
Liaise with weighbridge operators to ensure all delivery documentation is processed correctly.
Monitor product damage, maintain the damage log, and conduct investigations to address root causes.
Act as a point of contact between the distribution team and other departments to ensure smooth operational flow.
Assist in the preparation of reports, procedures, and internal documentation while ensuring data protection protocols are upheld.
Promote and enforce a strong health and safety culture throughout the department.
