We have exciting opportunities to join Group Print and Operations as a Distribution Supervisor, where you'll be part of a dynamic team ensuring our examination material reaches our learners all over the world.




About the role





Have you ever thought about what happens once an exam paper is created and finalised? You might be surprised at how complex it is. At Group Print and Operations, each year we securely print over half a billion A4 sides of question papers. With our partners, we safely deliver them to millions of learns, in thousands of schools, spread over 170 different countries. As a Distribution Supervisor in our Post Exams and Scanning department, you will play a vital role in ensuring our learners receive their examination materials on time and that it is processed accurately. You will supervise and/or line manage the processing of assessment related materials and collaborate in other areas on behalf of Group Print and Operations as required, ensuring a high level of accuracy and quality are maintained.



Tasks will vary depending on what team you are working in, and you will have the opportunity to gain experience in different areas during busy periods. These include:


Leading and/or line managing a team of employees. You may also be required to deputise for your line manager in periods of absence. Supervising the team, providing training and development whilst motivating them to achieve their goals. Managing and maintaining of departmental documents and procedures. Maintaining benchmarks, reporting KPI data in order to monitor and improve overall team performance. Building and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders, providing guidance on operational processes. Responding to queries and escalating more complex issues accordingly.

This is a varied role, where you will complete various tasks that could be desk-based or involve walking/standing for long periods at a time.

This role may require shift work for part of the year, depending on organisational need. The standard working hours are 8.30am - 4.15pm Monday - Friday (3pm finish on Friday's). Shift times are a rotation of early shift (6am - 1.30pm) and late shift (1.45pm - 9.15pm) Monday - Friday (early finishes on both shifts on Friday's) and you will receive a shift premium of 20%.

You will have excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure, as well as good computer, numeracy, and literacy skills.
