: Hybrid working, requirement to work from Headquarters in Northallerton 2 days per week, we also have offices across York & Harrogate.

Diversity, Equality & Inclusion Manager

to help us build a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected and empowered to thrive. You'll drive meaningful change, shape inclusive policies and practices and help us reflect the diversity of the communities we serve. You will work closely with senior leadership, people professionals, and teams across the force to create evidence-based frameworks, shape policies, and enhance employee experience.

Key responsibilities include:




Lead, direct and motivate the Diversity, Equality & Inclusion team, providing strategic direction, leadership advice and guidance. You will be a leading source of expertise about DEI, providing specialist guidance and management advice about the role of DEI in the delivery of our service to the public, and support to our workforce. Ensure links with community leaders are being made through the Inclusion team and working with operational and service leads to strengthen the voice of the community within service developments. Coach and support operational leads, managers and colleagues to deliver equality objectives using insight and evidence-based practice to advise on the development of strategies to drive cultural change, eliminate and reduce disparity, and build trust and confidence within communities. Working with key stakeholders to build DEI concepts and practices into all training, including leadership development programmes to increase awareness of the need to consider different views, perceptions and ideas in positive ways.

What you will bring to the role;




Significant experience in operating at a senior level, leading a team of Diversity & Inclusion specialists. Strong professional knowledge and understanding of the latest employment law including the Public Sector Equality Duty & Equality Act 2010. Collaboration is a key element of this role so you will thrive off building relationships both internally and externally. Working closely with a wide range of stakeholders you will have the confidence to influence senior stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of our DEI strategy Experience of developing organisation wide DEI programmes and projects that deliver meaningful change. Experience of producing and monitoring a suite of diversity and inclusion metrics/KPI's to identify trends and challenges and develop pragmatic solutions which mitigate risk as well as demonstrating progress and improvements made.
