Divisional Director

London, United Kingdom

Job Description

Newham Hospital is looking for a talented and motivated clinical leader to join the hospital executive board as divisional director for surgery, ITU and cancer.
The divisional director will lead the division with support from the Divisional Manager/Associate Director for Elective Care and Associated Director of Nursing to deliver high quality care to the local people of Newham.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting time for Newham with the development of an orthopaedic High Volume Low Complexity (HVLC) surgical hub in a stand-alone unit on the Newham Hospital campus which is also the host for Barts Health Group Orthopaedic Clinical Network. The hospital delivers elective day case and short stay surgery from the main hospital site. Further work is under way to secure funding to open 2 further elective theatres which will then total 4 elective and 3 emergency theatres on the main hospital site in addition to the 4 theatres in our standalone elective unit. The surgical strategy for Barts Health is that this will become a second HVLC hub delivering gynaecology and general surgery for the Trust. We have recently opened a brand-new state of art 12 bed ITU here at the hospital.
The Divisional Director role is a key clinical leader and member of our hospital executive board reporting directly to the hospital chief executive. The role is critical to the delivery of our strategic surgical vision for the hospital and the group. It is expected that the successful candidate will be a highly visible individual able to influence across the wider organisation at all levels of seniority. Our teams and patients are at the centre of what we do and therefore values based compassionate leadership are a must.
About us
