The Divisional Director is a senior clinical leader position and a member of the Trust Leadership Team. This is an excellent opportunity for an innovative and inspiring clinician to lead the delivery of high-quality care across the Division, which spans Emergency Medicine and Acute Medicine.
You will be a respected clinical leader, with the energy, drive, and enthusiasm to make a positive difference for our patients and our colleagues. Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, you will work in collaboration with the Divisional General Manager and Divisional Nurse in leading the Division to deliver timely access to high quality care, support the development of our teams and help us build a financially sustainable future.
You will have 5 PAs hours dedicated to the Divisional Director post and 5 PAs to be worked clinically in Acute or Emergency Medicine. The post is a fixed term for 3 years initially with the possibility of extension for a further 3 years. The Trust is happy to explore and discuss additional contractual arrangements with external candidates commensurate with their skills and qualifications in their chosen specialty.
You will be a senior clinical leader both in your Division and across the Trust. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Divisional Director is responsible and accountable for the delivery of high quality and high performing services, within budget for an agreed level of activity at an expected level of service and clinical quality.
The Divisional Director is expected to ensure all activities undertaken within the Division are subject to best practice governance arrangements and meet national policies, local policies, and guidance.
The Divisional Director will, in conjunction with the Divisional General Manager and Divisional Nurse, provide leadership and direction for the division, ensuring that this supports the fulfilment of the Trust's objectives and patient safety requirements.
To work closely with the Medical Director to support Clinical Directors in delivering consistent and transparent job plans aligning capacity to meet demand.
The Divisional Leadership Team will have joint responsibility for the operational management of the division, ensuring the effective and efficient use of resources and the implementation of both national and local strategies to achieve service objectives.
