22.5 hours year round, based on a successful 6 month probation period.

Negotiable to suit both successful candidate and us. Potential for three full days or more shorter days. Weekends or weekdays.

DIY & Construction worker
to join our team at Bedwen Plants!
What is the role?
We are looking for a person experienced in DIY, woodwork and building processes to join our team. The main position will be based around building and construction of garden centre structures, such as benches & polytunnels. Any previous experience with irrigation systems would also be of high interest to us. The successful candidate will need to show confidence and capability in their work and an ability to complete tasks independently. We are flexible with what days and times are worked so a great opportunity for someone who has other commitments. While we usually have a steady flow of DIY tasks, as we are a small team there may be times when it would be beneficial for you to help in other areas (such as plant care or order fulfilment).
The role will include;
Construction and repair of benches, fences, polytunnels etc.
Groundwork e.g. digging, leveling, laying stone/concrete
General maintenance around the nursery such as clearing and tidying, including maintaining standards of your work area
Working as part of a fast-paced team at our onsite nursery

Experience with building, woodworking or construction is essential

Knowledge/ability to use a digger or forklift is desirable
Experience with horticulture or irrigation systems is desirable
The ability to speak Welsh is not required for this position though could also be beneficial
