Professional Dog Walker:

Woodland Paws prides itself on putting dogs first and offers first class dog walks and day care services in the Newcastle area. We put our furry friends at the heart of everything we do and believe every walk should be fun, engaging and stimulating (whatever the weather) for this reason we choose not to walk in enclosed fields or paddocks.

We're looking for someone to join our pack who shares a like minded approach and isn't afraid of some mucky work and frequent snoot boops!

The Role:

(We have 2 roles available)
Morning Member: Start at 9am - Finish at 1.30pm. This will consist of 1 morning walk only, overtime available to cover sickness and holidays.

Full Day Member: Start at 9am - Finish at 3.30pm. This will consist of 2 walks, one in the morning, and one in the afternoon.

Lead one or two group walks per day, AM and PM (groups will be a mix of different breeds)
Several hours of driving per day in and around Newcastle and surrounding areas
Safe transport of dogs from their home to designated walk (including return journey)
Safe and appropriate handling of dogs of all sizes (some dogs may require assistance getting in and out of the van)
Cleaning and drying of dogs after wet/muddy walks (equipment provided)
Responsible walking in your chosen area (dog mess must be picked up)
Professional and courteous to members of the public, horse riders, farmers and other dog walkers, both on walks and whilst driving
Professional and friendly approach to customers
Excellent time management to ensure days don't run over
Physically demanding but super rewarding!

The Applicant:

Good knowledge and understanding of dogs; their behaviour, body language, and being able to identify behaviours associated with stress, injury etc.
Passionate about dogs and their welfare - we consider the dogs in our care part of our furry family and treat them as such
Full, clean driving licence
Professional, friendly, reliable and punctual
This is a physical role with lots of walking, bending and lifting of dogs so please be aware of this
A geographical knowledge of our catchment area would also be an advantage.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 22.5 - 32.5 per week
