Winston's is looking for a reliable, organised and confident individual to join our team as a part-time daycare assistant.
Animal Care:
Delivering the highest standard of care to every dog in our facility, including feeding, walking, supervising play, and ensuring the overall wellbeing and safety of all dogs throughout the day.
Cleaning, disinfecting and maintaining a high level of hygiene throughout the facility at all times.
Staff are expected to get to know each dog individually -- understanding their behaviours, routines, and personalities -- to notice any changes, such as signs of illness, injury, or unusual behaviour.
The role also includes supporting with the assessment of new dogs entering the facility to determine if they are suitable for our environment.
Attending to bathing and basic levels of grooming.
Vigilantly ensuring the safety and security of all dogs within the daycare, making sure all dogs are secured properly during drop-off and pick-ups.
Communication and Customer Service:
Staff must be able to work well within a team and have excellent communication skills.
Candidates must be comfortable speaking to customers, providing honest and helpful feedback at pick-up and drop-off, and representing the business in a kind, professional manner.
Have a substantial understanding of using social media to portray the daily activities of the dogs - providing high quality, appropriate content.
Provide support and training as necessary for new staff members.
Raise any issues or concerns with the manager or supervisor.
Administration:
As well as a solid understanding and applied use of social media, staff are required to provide administrative communication via WhatsApp and Instagram to existing and potential new customers.
Handling online bookings and online payment links.
Assist in upkeep and management of the dogs' recorded information.
Be consistent and responsible for checking rotas and keeping up to date with personal data.
Reporting hazards or health and safety incidents in a timely and accurate manner.
To be considered for this position
candidates should:
Have an excellent understanding of canine welfare - qualifications ideal but not essential.
Confidence and experience handling all breeds of dogs.
A genuine passion for dogs and their welfare.
Demonstrate a commitment to positive reinforcement handling.
Experience working within customer service or animal care.
Ability to communicate effectively within a team and to customers.
Ability to work in a loud and busy environment.
Specifications
Pay starts at 12.21 per hour, with a pay review after 3 months probationary period based on performance, reliability, and contribution to the team.
This role will be offered at a 0+ hour contract on a PAYE basis but we are looking for a staff member who can work 20+ hours in the week.
Holiday entitlement will be based on a pro-rata system, alongside requested unpaid leave.
