4 HOURS OF WORK

37 hours per week. Includes some occasional evenings and weekends

5 MAIN TASKS



To coordinate support services, and the programme of activities, for the community and outreach services, and to manage the team of staff within:

Male victim Service; ADAM Project Housing Link Services MARAC representation Training Development and Delivery Volunteers service
Management of all incoming referrals to the organisation, including screening and allocating referred clients to Practitioners/Service Areas.

To represent high risk victims at MARAC.

To act as a Training Lead for the organisation.

On Call: You are required to participate in an out of hours rota.

6 Key Responsibilities



Service Co-ordination. This includes overseeing employees and the management of resources to enable services to function efficiently and effectively. Service Development. This includes understanding the needs of clients and improving services to meet those needs and promoting the service to potential clients. Service Delivery. This includes management of incoming referrals and ensuring that contacts are made within the contact timing requirements.
This includes working alongside Practitioners, to deliver support services.

To act as a Training Lead, to develop, implement and deliver WALL's training plan, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery. General. This includes all duties that ensure the safety, and effectiveness of the team, with broader responsibilities that contribute to the development of WALL.

7 Duties



7.1 Service Co-ordination



To be responsible for, supervise and support employees and volunteers across WALL's Community and Outreach Services, ensuring appropriate and effective delivery of services. To be responsible for employee day-to-day supervision and professional development of employees, including the completion of supervision, case management supervision and appraisals. Management of all incoming referrals to the organisation, including screening and allocating referred clients to the most appropriate practitioner/service and manage the workload capacity for teams. To act as a critical link in the MARAC process and to be proactive in volunteering actions in response to the harm identified. To oversee cases heard at MARAC ensuring each client receives the appropriate service, individual to their needs. Direct line management of the Community and Outreach team, ensuring there is sufficient resources to meet the needs of the service. Oversee the case load of team members within the Community and Outreach Services, and to keep the Head of Operations updated on a regular basis. To work in partnership with other agencies to provide full integration for children into service provision within the area. To support clients in the Community and Outreach Services, and across other services / refuge, as required. To assist with recruitment and selection, and to supervise and support staff and volunteers within the Community and Outreach Services. To support the Head of Operations in the induction of new team members. To attend employee meetings, team meetings and other meetings as appropriate. To organise rotas/employee cover, to ensure the continuation of services, including periods of staff leave and/or absence. To ensure monitoring is up to date and submitted in line with Funder requirements. To keep accurate financial records and monitor the financial systems in the Community and Outreach Services. To keep clear, accurate records, and maintain confidential files on clients, and their children, within the service. To maintain a record of equipment needed, order new and replacement items when required and ensure regular maintenance and health and safety checks of equipment in the refuge/offices. To coordinate, plan and deliver the volunteer training programme, and domestic abuse training, to internal personnel, external organisations and agencies. To assist with the recruitment of volunteers, deliver induction training and supervise volunteers, being a point of contact for absences and queries.

7.2 Service Development



Develop and maintain links with other agencies, individually and as a service. To ensure that the service recognises the needs and concerns of a diverse range of victims and survivors, and addresses them appropriately by working proactively to ensure that a non-discriminatory service is accessible to all eligible clients. To support the administrative systems, and use effectively, to provide high quality services. To represent WALL to relevant external agencies. This includes participating in local activities/campaigns to promote better understanding of domestic abuse. To regularly assess the needs of clients and employees, and make recommendations for improving and developing services within the Community and Outreach Services. To work with partner agencies in developing and improving services for victims of domestic abuse. To assist and support the Head of Operations in the development and promotion of WALL training services to external agencies and individuals, and specifically to raise awareness of the effects of domestic abuse on victims. To ensure monitoring and evaluation systems, which assess intake, output and outcomes of the service are accurate and up to date. To assist the senior management team in the collection of statistical and financial information for monitoring, auditing and quality assurance purposes. To develop and maintain links with other agencies and assist in developing protocols and referral procedures as appropriate. To assist in the development of WALL policies and practices, and ensure all employees are able to apply to their own practice. To keep up to date with policy and practice in your area of work and undertake employee development and training relevant to the post.

7.3 Service Delivery



To accept and oversee the referrals pathway into WALL and accept and triage admissions to services. To keep clear and accurate records and maintain confidential files on clients. To provide support for victims and their children based on their needs and interests. To facilitate and chair team meetings. To represent clients and their children at meetings with external agencies where appropriate. To act as a Training Lead for WALL. To organise and participate in the rota of employees on duty in the evenings and weekends. This includes duty during bank holidays and national holidays.

7.4 General

7.5 Other duties commensurate with responsibilities



To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required, and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role. To support all areas of service. To attend all supervision, staff meetings and training days. To be office/refuge based on a daily basis.

7.6 Line Management relationship



Post holder will be line managed by the Head of Operations.

Qualifications



Essential Requirements:

- Relevant degree, or two years plus, equivalent experience (social work, youth work, community services, education)

Desirable Requirements:

- Safe Lives qualification (or willingness to study)

- Mental Health First Aid qualification

- Experience of working with vulnerable adults and children in an outreach context

- Experience of working in a multi-cultural context

- Experience of following and implementing safeguarding policies and procedures

- Experience of writing delivery or individual development / support plans

- Experience of liaising effectively with other organisations and agencies

- Experience of planning and evaluating own and other's work

- Experience of coordinating and delivering training

Desirable Requirements:

- Experience of working in the voluntary sector

- Experience of supporting high risk victims at MARAC

- Experience of fundraising and making grant applications

- Experience of financial monitoring and working to a budget

- Experience of project development

Knowledge and Skills



Essential Requirements:

- An understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on individuals and children

- Up to date knowledge of housing, criminal, civil and welfare rights legislation, relating to domestic abuse

- Excellent communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal, when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals

- Experience of computerised case management systems

- Working knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion

- Understanding of safeguarding protocols, including child protection issues and legal responsibilities.

- Good administrative skills, including ability to write reports

- Working knowledge of ICT

- Ability to maintain confidentiality

- Ability to work in a non-discriminative way, and promote equality of opportunity

- Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
