As a Domestic Abuse Worker (RiC)you will:
Provide community support such as a weekly drop-in, well-being activities and group work for survivors of domestic abuse. The role will include the following duties:
To support with the coordination and facilitation of a weekly drop-in service for domestic abuse survivors experiencing homelessness. This includes working with volunteers to provide attendees with a cooked meal and facilitating well-being activities.
To facilitate domestic abuse group work sessions.
To complete administrative tasks related to monitoring and evaluation.
To assess the needs of service users attending drop-in ensuring their safety at the point of contact
To complete initial DASH assessments of risk where appropriate.
To assist any service user coming to the drop-in for domestic abuse related support.
To provide advice on housing, safety, and civil options where appropriate
Ensure all relevant case management has been completed on time; case notes, DASH, service user information for referrals into MWA services.
To be successful as an Domestic Abuse Worker (RiC)you will need to:
Relevant professional qualification, for example Health and Social Care Level Three or equivalent experience.
GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in a minimum of Mathematics and English
Recent significant experience of undertaking direct work with vulnerable people including experience of working with people affected by domestic and sexual abuse in a 1:1 or group setting
Experience of carrying out risk assessments, needs assessments and support planning.
Experience of completing risk assessments including the safe lives risk assessment and other comprehensive assessments
General knowledge of welfare benefits, housing options and other appropriate support services.
Understanding of working with service users with complex needs associated with mental health, drugs and/or alcohol.
