Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Domestic Assistant to join our team, providing high-quality cleaning and support services within a residential Care Home setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, ensuring a welcoming environment, and delivering excellent customer service. This role offers an opportunity to work in a professional environment where attention to detail and a proactive attitude are highly valued. Applicants need not have previous experience as full training will be given. Applicants should have a positive approach to their work.

Responsibilities

Perform general cleaning duties including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitising surfaces to maintain cleanliness standards. Assist with laundry and linen management as required. Prepare light refreshments when necessary. Ensure all areas are kept tidy and organised, adhering to health and safety regulations. Respond promptly to client requests or specific instructions to meet individual needs. Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, reporting any maintenance issues promptly. Support with additional janitorial tasks such as waste disposal and restocking consumables. Uphold confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Experience

Previous experience in janitorial or cleaning roles is preferred, including hotel or commercial cleaning environments, but full training will be given. Experience in hospitality or customer service roles is advantageous, demonstrating strong communication skills. Knowledge of cleaning products and techniques, with the ability to adapt methods based on different surfaces or environments. Skills in basic cooking or food preparation are desirable but not essential. Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service with a friendly and professional demeanour. Organised with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks efficiently.
