Summary
We are seeking a Domestic/Laundry Assistant to join our dedicated team at Kings Lodge Centre for Complex Needs. This role is vital in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our patients, contributing significantly to their overall comfort and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
Ensure that the cleanliness and hygiene of the Home is maintained to a high standard.
Ensure compliance with best Health & Safety practices including management of COSHH documentation.
Ensure the appropriate documentation is maintained in relation to housekeeping by the use of agreed cleaning schedules
Carry out all cleaning duties as directed by the Head Housekeeper to the required company standards.
Ensure that daily and deep cleaning schedules are adhered to.
Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene.
Ensure that all cleaning equipment is correctly and safely used and kept in a safe and clean condition.
Report any defect to the Head Housekeeper or Maintenance Assistant.
To be sensitive to the privacy and individual needs of the residents.
To ensure all necessary documentation is completed daily.
To ensure trolleys are restocked at the end of the shift and cleaning cupboards are left clean and tidy.
Cover for laundry staff and work within the safety parameters required in the laundry
Process laundry and sort it into relevant groups for washing, drying, and ironing.
Ensure linen is stored correctly in clean and dirty piles.
Return the washing to the linen cupboard and the kitchen.
Perform minor repairs to Service Users' clothing.
Carry out any other reasonable instructions of the General Manager.
Ensure the laundry room is clean and tidy.
Report immediately to the General Manager or Person in Charge any illness of an infectious nature or accident.
Understand and ensure the implementation of the Care Centres Health & Safety policy, and Emergency Fire procedures.
Report to the Maintenance Assistant or Person in Charge any faulty appliances, damaged furniture., equipment or any potential hazard.
Requirements
Previous experience in a domestic or cleaning role preferred but not essential.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with staff and residents
