Job Summary

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Assistants to join our team, with part-time roles (20 hours per week) as well as full-time positions.

The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to individuals in their homes, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being throughout the night. As a Domiciliary Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting service users with personal care, maintaining their independence, safety, and enhancing their quality of life.

Main Responsibilities

Provide personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support individuals with mobility and physical activities to promote independence. Monitor and assist service users, ensuring safety, comfort, and reassurance. Communicate effectively with service users to understand their needs and preferences. Maintain accurate records of observation notes, care plans, and service user progress. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care delivery. Engage service users in conversations and activities that support emotional well-being. Adhere to health and safety regulations while providing care. Support the service user with household responsibilities, as required. Safely manage and record medication as per procedures.

Person Specifications

Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Basic IT skills for maintaining digital records and communication. A genuine passion for helping others and a commitment to providing high-quality care. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. Good time management and organisational skills. Ability to work flexibly, including alternate weekends, nights, evenings, and bank holidays. Ability to support individuals who may present challenges, responding calmly and effectively, and implementing clear boundaries when required. Enhanced DBS check with satisfactory clearance (required before start date).
