Key Responsibilities:
As a
Domiciliary Care Worker
, your role will involve a variety of tasks to ensure the highest standards of care, including:
Personal Care
: Helping with washing, dressing, oral care, and hygiene support
Feeding and Nutrition
: Menu preparation, assisting with shopping, ensuring a balanced diet, and preventing choking during meals
Health & Welfare
: Prompting and administering medication, attending appointments with the service user, and liaising with multi-disciplinary teams (MDT)
Household Duties
: Cleaning, assisting with household tasks, and managing medication orders
Emotional and Social Support
: Encouraging independence, engaging in social activities, and providing emotional support to service users
Care Plan Updates
: Carrying out holistic assessments, updating care plans, and maintaining accurate records
Emergency Response
: Responding to emergencies as part of a 24/7 care team, especially in Brain Injury supported living accommodations
Essential Requirements:
1+ year experience
in a domiciliary care role or similar
Full UK driving licence
and own vehicle
Care Certificate
(completed or in progress)
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
(or willing to obtain one)
Bilingual applicants
are preferred (due to our focus on Equality and Diversity within the UK)
Strong communication skills
and ability to work independently
Compassion and resilience
to work in challenging environments
Additional Responsibilities:
Clinical Skills
: PEG/NG tube care, bowel care, medication administration (TSLIM, CPAP, etc.)
Safeguarding
: Adhering to the
Mental Capacity Act (UK)
and following best practice to identify and manage hazards
Training
: You will be required to attend specific training courses such as
People Moving and Handling
