14.63 per hour rising to 14.91 per hour plus an enhancement of 30% from 5pm to 8am Monday to Friday and all-day Saturday. 60% enhancement apply on Sundays and bank holidays.

Are you a compassionate, dedicated Health Care Assistant looking to make a real difference in people's lives? Join our HOME Team, working alongside District Nurses, the Specialist Palliative Care Team, and our multidisciplinary team of Medics, Nurses, and HCAs both in the community and on our Inpatient Unit (IPU).
About the role
Working under the supervision of the Community Services Manager, you'll provide personal care, emotional support, and a calming presence to individuals in their last year of life, supporting them to remain comfortable and cared for in their own homes across North Yorkshire.
This role primarily focuses on caring for our social care patients, but you'll also have opportunities to support our wider community and inpatient teams when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver compassionate personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting while maintaining dignity and hygiene.
Support medication routines by reminding or safely administering prescribed treatments, following training and protocols.
Prepare and serve meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences.
Carry out light domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry, and tidying to create a safe, comfortable home environment.
Assist with shopping, errands, and daily living activities to ensure clients have everything they need.
Help with mobility and transfers using safe and appropriate techniques.
Provide companionship and emotional support, helping to reduce isolation and promote wellbeing.

Previous experience in a care environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Understanding of patient and social care principles
A patient-centred approach and commitment to multidisciplinary working
Awareness of safeguarding and patient protection from abuse
Ability to work well as part of a supportive team
Experience in palliative or rehabilitative social care services
