Job Description

Milk deliveries to residential homes, schools and businesses in the North east areas.

This company provides milk deliveries to thousands of doorstep customers all over the North East.

This position is for candidates who will learn how to deliver a milk round of up to 500 customers per shift using an electronic hand held device. Candidates will need to be confident driving a 3.5t drop side van.

A brief description of the daily role -

Once arriving at the depot the delivery vehicle is picked up and checked for defects. Load the delivery handheld to the correct day and check products needed. Check delivery in designated refrigerated area is correct before loading.

Load the van with the correct amount of products and drive to the area of the region where deliveries are set out in order on the handheld device.

Deliveries are made through the night in residential areas, delivery drivers need to be aware of their surroundings, be quiet and not make excess noise while working.

Once finished all deliveries, return to the depot and unload all empty glass bottles into designated areas then unload any stock products into refrigerated area. Park up the vehicle and inform management that you have completed your shift.

Weekly stock sheet to be completed after final shift of the week and handed into management

The job is not for somebody who is expecting to drive only, It is a physically demanding profession and requires common sense and excellent communication.

Delivery days are 4 night shifts per week, average hours 9pm until 7am
