We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, with experience in various healthcare settings such as end of life, personal care, and long-term care including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, and other complex needs. This role requires a commitment to providing high-quality support to one of our lovely clients based in Rickmansworth (WD3). The Care Assistant will work closely with our live-in professional to ensure the well-being and comfort of our client. The role is with immediate start and requires consistency. Option to work as self employed available along with company perks.
Please be aware when applying that this is a 4 visits per day for our client and commuting is necessary. A car or living in the neighborhood are imperative to this position!
Responsibilities - you will be supporting the live-in carer
Provide direct personal care to our client, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Monitor and record vital signs, ensuring accurate medical documentation in compliance with regulations.
Assist with medication administration if required and adherence to prescribed treatment plans.
Support with mobility needs using equipment such as hoists and other equipment.
Engage in meaningful interactions with client to promote emotional well-being and cognitive stimulation.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for the client, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
Document patient progress and any changes in condition accurately within systems.
Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and the family during challenging times.
Requirements
Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is required, including but not limited to: hospital experience, long-term care experience, assisted living, hospice care, or home care.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support is essential.
Familiarity with care systems is advantageous.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs is highly desirable.
Ability to perform tasks related to client service including personal care.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
