Duties

Safely operate company vehicles, including vans and lorries, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Plan and follow the most efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries. Load and unload goods, often requiring heavy lifting, with care to prevent damage or injury. Verify delivery orders and obtain signatures or proof of delivery from customers. Maintain accurate records of deliveries and vehicle logs. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules or issues. Ensure the security of goods during transit and handle any unforeseen circumstances professionally.

Skills

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, with a solid understanding of commercial driving practices. Valid driver's licence Right to work Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently. Strong organisational skills to manage routes and schedules effectively. Excellent communication skills for liaising with team members and customers. Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks under pressure. Knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
