Driver Valeter (Class 2)

With a strong reputation for quality, professionalism and customer service, we are seeking a Driver Valeter (Class 2) to support our sales and operational teams by ensuring vehicles are delivered, collected and presented to the highest possible standard.

As a Driver Valeter (Class 2), you will play a vital role in supporting sales and operational activities across the business. This is a varied, hands-on position combining Class 2 driving duties with vehicle valeting and preparation, ensuring trucks and commercial vehicles are professionally presented for customer handovers, demonstrations, sales activity and internal movements. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, is reliable, and understands the importance of vehicle presentation and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Drive and manoeuvre Class 2 (Category C) commercial vehicles safely and professionally between depots, customer sites, bodybuilders and suppliers. Carry out vehicle deliveries and collections, representing Thompson Commercials in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Complete interior and exterior vehicle valeting to a high standard for sales display, photography and customer handover. Perform basic vehicle checks including tyres, lights, fluid levels and visual inspections, reporting defects promptly. Assist with yard movements, vehicle positioning, parking and organisation to support sales and workshop operations. Support the sales team with vehicle preparation for demonstrations, viewings and handovers. Ensure all vehicle movement documentation is completed accurately and returned on time. Maintain a clean, safe and organised valeting bay and yard area. Comply with all road traffic legislation, driver hours regulations, health & safety requirements and company policies.

Essential Skills & Experience

Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) driving licence. Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card. Experience driving HGVs or commercial vehicles. Good understanding of vehicle safety and daily vehicle checks. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Professional attitude with a strong customer-focused approach. Previous experience in vehicle valeting, commercial vehicle sales, hire or dealership environments. (desirable) Familiarity with working in a yard or workshop environment. (desirable)

What We Offer

Hourly rate: 14.00 per hour. Overtime: Paid at time and a half. Plenty of overtime available, with current drivers earning an average of 9,000-13,000 per year in overtime.
