We are looking for a Driver / Crematorium Operative who wants to make a real difference to people's lives especially at a time when they need us most, who can demonstrate a caring nature with excellent attention to detail. The role involves working as part of a team within the crematoria and collecting deceased pets from Vet practices or private addresses and returning ashes back to a vet practice or their owner. The pets are taken into our care and cremated as per their owner's wishes. A full UK Driving Licence is essential.
You will predominantly be working at the crematoria, but will be required to collect deceased pets from Vet Practices and private addresses on an ad hoc basis.
Responsibilities
Safely operate a vehicle to transport goods to designated locations.
Load and unload items, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
Maintain accurate delivery records and logs, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
Follow all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the vehicle.
Skills
Proven experience as a Driver with a clean driving record.
Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries.
Good communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
Familiarity with local routes and traffic regulations is advantageous.
