JOB TITLE: DRIVER/ESCORT

JOB PURPOSE:

Based on 16.25 hours per week split shifts Monday - Friday Start times 08.15 and 15.15

Responsible to the Senior Driver for assisting in the transportation, of service users to and from a variety of destinations, in a safe and efficient manner whilst maintaining the comfort of the service users, within the established policies and procedures of Age UK Stafford & District.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Direct Services

1.1 Transport service users to and from home, or other destinations, on Age UK Stafford & District transport.

1.2 Provide assistance, where required, to the service user to board vehicle, whilst on the transport and in reverse on the return journey.

1.3 Assist in the orientation of the service user.

1.4 To use appropriate communication skills for the benefit of service users and their

carer's.

1.5 To cover for other transport staff in their absence.

1.6 Receive and be responsible for service user's personal belongings, medication and monies whilst on transport.

1.7 To assist staff in the effective delivery of services, by being courteous, and helpful with any enquiries they may have regarding transport arrangements. Also by reporting any concerns relating to individual service user and/or their carers, including reporting if a service user does not attend as arranged.

2 Administration

2.1 To maintain any required records as requested by the senior driver and/or service manager or co-ordinator.

3 Safety and Security

3.1 To contribute to the prevention and management of untoward incidents such as accidents, misuse of equipment etc.

3.2 To contribute to the maintenance of security and confidentiality of information concerning service users.

3.3 To assist in the safety and security of client possessions whilst on the transport.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.21 per hour
