Job Description

We currently have opportunity for a Part Time Driver Shunter at our distribution centre in Sherburn in Elmet, Sainsbury's contract.

How will you contribute?

To be responsible for the allocation of vehicles to the schedule in line with specific kit requirements. Work closely with both the planning and warehouse departments to ensure the smooth running of the loading function whilst managing all yard operations. To report incidents or accidents that occur whilst on the road, or at depot. Complies with driver hours legislation and all road traffic regulations. Complies with health and safety regulations. You may also undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of the function and the site, which will include the movement of stock in a professional, economical, and safe manner at all times, whilst following company procedures and maintaining the company image to provide a quality service.

The Person:



HGV Class 1. Shunter experience preferred

12 months HGV driving experience required

Ability to work on your own initiative, working to strict deadlines and the ability to carry out interactive teaching. A good communicator both verbal and written. A professional approach displaying credibility. Awareness of Transport and Health and Safety legislation. Ability to act on instruction. Attention to detail is required A flexible team-based approach

Shift commitments:



The shift pattern for this role is Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, working 12 hours of rotating 18:00-06:00 and 17:00-05:00.





Basic rate of pay 17.33. Premiums for night work and weekends apply.



Holidays and lieu days pro rata'd - 234 hours per year, plus service days if eligible.
