Join Blackpool Council's Integrated Transport Team as a Driver (Special School Transport) and help us provide safe, reliable and compassionate transport for young people in Blackpool.
Key responsibilities:
Safely transporting children and young people with special educational needs to and from school on wheelchair accessible or standard 16 seater minibuses
Working closely with Passenger Assistants to ensure a supporting and caring environment during journeys
Carrying out daily vehicle checks, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety including completing paperwork and reports as required by Council procedures and relevant regulations
Building positive relationships with pupils, parents and school staff
What we are looking for:
Full driving licence with D1 or Enhanced Classification
NVQ1, GCSEs (Grades D-G) or equivalent qualification to include Maths and English
Experience driving passenger carrying vehicles or working with children or vulnerable individuals is an advantage
A caring, patient and professional attitude
Reliability, punctuality and adaptability
Good knowledge of health and safety

Hours available for these positions is 30 hours per week, on a term time only basis. Hours will generally be worked over a split shift with an outgoing journey in the mornings and a return journey in the afternoons.
