Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. We're looking for someone who is keen to learn and looking to progress in the recycling / waste sector. Previous experience is beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided- attitude is more important than experience. A confident driver with no previous convictions is essential.

We operate Monday to Friday starting at 7:30am from Netherlee, G44 and finishing when the days jobs are complete, generally 4-5pm but this is dependent on the particular days' workload. 40-45 hrs per week expected. 4 weeks holiday per year plus bank holidays.

All applicants must pass a basic Police Scotland Check and hold a full UK drivers license with no convictions.

Responsibilities

Drive company vehicles to pick up waste from designated locations. Ensure all jobs are picked up on time and in accordance with company policies. Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and reliability. Communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding pickup schedules and any potential issues. Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Maintain accurate records of completed jobs. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.

Requirements

Valid driving licence with a clean driving record; experience as a Delivery Driver or Van Driver is preferred. Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for performing basic vehicle maintenance. Previous experience in commercial driving is beneficial. Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively. Ability to lift heavy items safely as required during loading and unloading processes. Flexibility to work varied hours as needed.
