Overview:




We are looking for a reliable, physically fit, and customer-focused Driver's Assistant / Drivers Mate to support our delivery operations. This role is key to helping us deliver donated goods, furniture, and store stock safely and professionally as part of our charity's collection and delivery service.

Key Responsibilities:



Assist the driver in

loading and unloading

goods, including furniture and large household items.

Carry out deliveries

to and from residential & business homes.

Navigate and guide

the driver on routes and help maintain efficient schedules. Ensure all goods are

handled with care

and attention. Provide

excellent customer service

, including contacting customers before arrival and assisting them with loading / unloading of goods. Maintain a

clean and safe working environment

inside and outside the vehicle. Assist in

lifting, moving, installing, and placing

items safely with correct manual handling practices

Requirements



Key Requirements:



Right to work in the UK & able to pass a criminal record check Confident using GPS/maps and planning routes Good communication and customer service skills Physically fit - able to lift and move items Reliable, trustworthy, and well-organised Basic vehicle check knowledge (e.g. oil, tyres, fuel) Available full-time, including weekends Friendly, self-motivated, and a team player with a community-minded attitude Previous experience in a similar role (e.g., removals, delivery, warehousing) is desirable but not essential. Comfortable working outdoors and in varied conditions. Have safety footwear and a hi-viz.
