We are seeking a reliable and proactive Driver's Mate to join our logistics team. This role involves supporting the driver in delivering goods efficiently and safely across designated routes. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, physical stamina, and experience in delivery or warehouse environments. Duties

Assist the driver with loading and unloading goods, ensuring items are handled with care and safety. Support the driver in navigating routes and adhering to delivery schedules. Help secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit. Conduct safety checks on the vehicle before and after journeys. Communicate effectively with clients regarding delivery times and any issues that arise. Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups. Assist with warehouse tasks such as organising stock and preparing items for dispatch, including heavy lifting when necessary. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations during operations.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a warehouse environment is preferred. Valid driver's licence or equivalent qualification. (Not essential) Experience in commercial driving is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients. Good organisational skills with attention to detail. Physical fitness to handle long periods of standing, lifting, and manoeuvring goods. Reliable, punctual, and able to work well under pressure.
