Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Driver's Mate to assist our delivery team in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in delivery driving, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a good understanding of mechanical knowledge. This role is essential in supporting our drivers during deliveries and ensuring that all operations run smoothly.

Duties

Assist the driver with loading and unloading goods from the vehicle, ensuring items are secured properly for transport. Support the driver in navigating routes efficiently while adhering to road safety regulations. Communicate effectively with the driver to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues that may arise during transit. Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle, ensuring all equipment is in good working order. Provide assistance in warehouse operations as needed, including inventory management and stock replenishment. Utilise flatbed vehicles when necessary, demonstrating an understanding of their specific requirements for safe operation.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is highly desirable. Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and best practices is essential. Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance checks on vehicles is advantageous. Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and customers. Experience working in a warehouse environment is beneficial. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. Pay: Up to 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 24 per week
