Job Overview

Taylor Engineering & Fabrications Ltd is seeking a reliable and hardworking Driver/Workshop person to support daily workshop and delivery operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with manual handling, basic workshop tasks, and safe vehicle operation. This is a hands-on role involving driving, deliveries, materials handling, and general support across the business.

Key ResponsibilitiesDriving & Deliveries

Deliver orders to customers in a safe, timely, and professional manner. Collect steel and other materials from suppliers as required. Ensure vehicle is kept clean, roadworthy, and maintained.

Warehouse / Workshop Duties

Perform manual handling tasks safely, including lifting, loading, and moving materials. Wrap parcels, packages, and fabricated items securely for dispatch. Cut materials using workshop saws (training provided if required). Operate a forklift for loading/unloading materials (FLT licence preferred). Assist with painting, finishing, and preparing parts for dispatch or fabrication. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.

General Handyman & Support Tasks

Assist engineers/fabricators with simple tasks as needed. Complete basic maintenance or repair tasks around the workshop. Support day-to-day operations and follow instructions from supervisors.

Skills & Requirements

Full UK driving licence (clean or minimal points preferred). Experience in manual handling and workshop environments. Forklift licence an advantage (or willingness to train). Ability to operate basic tools and workshop equipment. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently. Good communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to undertake varied tasks across the business.

Desirable Attributes

Experience in engineering, fabrication, or warehousing. Knowledge of safe handling practices and workshop safety procedures. Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
